When is the conference?
The IBPPA conference will be held on 10-12 September 2025. There is also a pre-conference (invite-only) event that will be hosted at NESTA office in London on 9 September. If you’d like to attend, please indicate your willingness to attend when registering. Please note, expressing interest does not guarantee a ticket to the pre-conference event.Where is the conference?
The conference will be held in Bush House, Strand, King’s College London, London, WC2R 2LS.Can everyone attend the conference, also non-presenters?
Yes. However, please note that invited presenters will get priority for registration (until 1 May). We are able to host up to a total of 300 guests this year. Both presenters and non-presenters must be registered for the event.
Do I need to be a member of IBPPA to attend the conference?
Yes. All attendees must be a member of the IBPPA to attend the conference. If you are not a member, you will be redirected to sign up for membership before you can register for the conference.
What is the programme of the conference?
The programme will be published in August 2025. Please stay tuned to the conference website for more details.
Who are the keynote speakers?
The keynote speakers for this year are: Prof. Gerd Gigerenzer who will deliver the Herbert Simon Lecture in Behavioural Public Policy, Prof. Linda Steg and Prof. Olivier Oullier. In addition, Prof. Peter John will deliver the opening address and Prof. Bobby Duffy will deliver the closing address.
When can I register for the conference?
Registration is now open for presenters.
1 May 2025: Registration is open to all members of the public and closed for presenters.
13 June 2025: Registration closes.
How do I register for the conference?
You can register for the conference via KCL estore. The registration link will be provided on the IBPPC website.
What are registration fees?
Registration fees are £370 for IBPPA members. If you are not a member, you must first pay for IBPPA membership, which costs £50. Please note, you cannot register for the conference unless you are a member of IBPPA.
What’s included: Conference fees include access to all conference presentations and keynote lectures, as well as conference lunches, coffee breaks and drinks on the 12th. It also covers entry to the boat party with a complimentary first drink on evening 10 September 2025.
What’s not included? The conference dinner is charged additionally at £80.
Is there financial support?
There are limited bursaries available for policy professionals coming from low- and low-middle income economies. For a list of eligible countries, please see: https://datahelpdesk.worldbank.org/knowledgebase/articles/906519-world-bank-country-and-lending-groups. If you are eligible, please apply for the bursary at the time of registration. If you are selected, you will be notified by email.
Do I have to apply for a Visa?
Check the UK government website to see if you need a VISA: https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa. All European attendees from outside the UK also need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). If you require a visa, we can provide a letter of invitation to support your application. To request one, please contact us at conference@ibppa.org. As the UK visa department may experience high demand during the summer, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.What accommodations are near the venue?
You can check for accommodations close to Strand on www.booking.com or www.airbnb.com. We advise you to book your accommodation and travel at your earliest possible convenience, as September is a busy period for universities in the UK when most academic intakes take place.
Are there accommodation discounts for conference attendees?

What is the best way to travel to King’s College London?
Public transport
The best way to travel to King’s College London (Strand Campus) is by public transport. King's College London's Strand Campus is easily accessible by London Underground. Nearby stations include:Temple Station (District and Circle lines): ~6 minutes' walk.
Holborn Station (Central and Piccadilly lines): ~5 minutes' walk.
Chancery Lane Station (Central line): ~6 minutes' walk.
The nearest bus stops include Aldwych/Bush House and Aldwych/Kingsway, both approximately a 3-minute walk from the campus. For those traveling by train, Charing Cross and Waterloo stations are within walking distance. We recommend using a contactless card or Oyster card for easy access to London's transport network.
Parking at the Venue
King's College London's Strand Campus does not have its own parking facilities.
What are the Awards this year?
This year we have three awards which will be given out at the conference.
The IBPPC Best Paper Award will be given to the best paper that is submitted to the conference.
In Addition, two Exogeneity Awards for Rising Stars in Behavioural Public Policy will be sponsored by Michael Sanders and Sanchayan Banerjee, where each award will come with a prize of 1000GBP.
The two Rising Stars Awards include:
1. Best paper submitted by an Early Career Researcher (those within three years of defending their PhD at the time of submission deadline).
2. Best paper submitted by a PhD Student (who has not defended their thesis at the point of submission) - or the second-best paper submitted by a doctoral student if the first prize is awarded to a PhD student.
How do I get nominated for an Award?
To be considered for the IBPPC 2025 Best Paper Award, please indicate this on the submission form along with your abstract before 14 February 2025. The deadline to submit a full paper for the Best Paper Award is 31 March 2025.
To be considered for the two Exogeneity Awards, please submit a full paper before 1 August 2025. To be considered, participants must have registered for the conference. You can apply for these awards using this form: https://forms.office.com/r/ygXN2anMxi.
When and how do I get notified I received an award?
You will be notified confidentially by 1 September 2025 if you have been selected for the award. All awards will be publicly announced at IBPPC 2025. You must have registered for the conference (before standard deadlines) to be considered for the award.
Where can I upload my full paper?
Full papers will be solicited via email to all those who indicated interest to submit for the IBPPC 2025 Best Paper Award.

Is the venue accessible for people with special needs?
